Community organizations, businesses and private citizens can “adopt” a park, playground, or a neutral ground, which they are then responsible for maintaining for a year.

Planting of any trees or flowers on the adopted green space requires prior approval from the City of New Orleans Department of Parks and Parkways.

Not only is adopting a neutral ground, park or playground a great way to contribute to the improvement of your city through beautification, but it’s also a great way to let the public know that you care about your community.

It’s Easy!

  1. Contact Burdette at Parkway Partners to find out if the greenspace you are interested in is available.
  2. Submit an adoption agreement and commit to at least one year of maintenance.
  3. Parkway Partners submits the form to the Department of Parks and Parkways, and contacts you upon approval.  Your adoption will be recognized with a sign.

To speak to Burdette about adopting a neutral ground, call 504 620 2224 or email bfouchia@parkwaypartnersnola.org.
