Community Gardens
Take a tour of the largest
privately-funded neighborhood
gardens project in the country.

See our progress in“re-leafing”
New Orleans.

Prior to Hurricane Katrina, there were 54 active gardens and to date
we have re-established 28.

If you would like to get involved, talk with your neighbors and select a
representative to call us at Parkway Partners for more information.

While organic methods of fertilization, pest control, composting and
soil building are what we emphasize, each garden is unique in that
the individuals select what flowers, vegetables, herbs or fruits will be
grown.

Remember, it only takes a few interested gardeners to begin.  Three
or four residents planted some of our most successful plots and now
more than 20 are involved.

Community gardens are a great way to reconnect with neighbors
while rebuilding our neighborhoods.  It’s a good time to start
planting!
