Created by Parkway Partners to replace the urban
canopy following the wrath of hurricane Katrina.
Urban Tree Project
A collaboration of Parkway Partners, community organizations and city
residents to restore the urban canopy in city neighborhoods.
Community Gardens
With Parkway Partners residents convert vacant and neglected lots into
vegetable or flower gardens, herb farms or passive green areas.
Adopt-a-Neutral Ground Program
Citizens volunteer to maintain a section of the neutral grounds.  
Prior approval from the Department of Parks and Parkways is required.
Second Saturday Program
Purchase high quality, low cost plants/trees on the 2nd Saturday of each
month and get valuable information from a local authority.
Schoolyard Gardens
Sow & Grow uses the power of nature to engage elementary students in
garden-based activities. Sessions reinforce traditional lessons learned
in the classroom in such subjects as science, math and language arts.
Save Our Trees
Yearly program that enables citizens to spray for caterpillars and
termites and fertilize public street trees at a reasonable cost.
